Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: August 6, 2026

VenueSpree is built to serve public-sector organizations — schools, cities, universities, and churches — and the residents they serve. We are committed to making the Service usable by everyone, including people with disabilities, and to meeting that commitment on an ongoing basis rather than as a one-time fix.

Our standard

We design and build VenueSpree to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. This includes, among other things:

  • Keyboard-operability for all interactive elements, including booking forms and calendars
  • Sufficient color contrast in both light and dark presentations
  • Semantic HTML and ARIA labeling for screen reader compatibility
  • Visible focus indicators and a logical, predictable focus order
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images and icons
  • Forms with clear labels, error identification, and helpful error correction guidance
  • Respect for reduced-motion preferences where animation is used

Known limitations

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we don't claim perfection. Areas we're aware of and actively improving include:

  • Interactive calendar views, which can be denser for screen reader users than a simple list; a list-based alternative view is available on facility search pages.
  • Facility photos uploaded by individual organizations may not always include descriptive alt text if the organization did not provide it — we prompt organizations to add descriptions during facility setup.
  • Some legacy documents (e.g. organization-provided rental agreements attached as PDFs) are outside VenueSpree's direct control and may not fully conform.

Third-party components

Payment collection is handled by Stripe's hosted and embedded components, which maintain their own accessibility conformance. We select and configure third-party components with accessibility as a requirement, and we monitor for regressions when we upgrade them.

Reporting an accessibility issue

If you encounter a barrier using VenueSpree, please tell us. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within two business days and to provide a timeline for resolution or a reasonable workaround.

Email: accessibility@venuespree.com

Please include the page or feature you were using, the assistive technology and browser you were using (if known), and a description of the issue. If you're trying to complete a specific reservation and need immediate help, you can also contact the organization directly using the support information on their booking page.

Ongoing review

We review new features against WCAG 2.2 AA criteria before release and periodically audit existing pages using both automated tooling and manual testing, including keyboard-only and screen reader testing. This statement is updated as our conformance posture changes.
